How to successfully start and run your sewing business in a small town or a competitive big city.

Posted by Admin on

You can easily start your sewing business in a small town or a competitive city and this is how.

I'm going to show you how to start your sewing business in a small town and have the edge you

need for success.

This information will also work in a larger town and city where the competition has you stumped

and stalled for customers.

I will explain how and why below.

The concept may seem overwhelming at first, but trust me, I've done this. I've been in the service

business for three decades and have started over a dozen successful small service businesses

both in small towns and big cities.

So I am not a two bit writer that was hired online.

I've walked the talk, so this is from hands on experience and it works.

This information could easily be sold within a business consulting package for hundreds if not

thousands of dollars.

If you decide to do that, please contact us for the rights.

So let's get started.

I can hear you saying:  My town is too small to start a sewing service business, I won't get enough

customers.

And in a sense that is true.

In a sense because I'm going to explain a little tweak that will supercharge your small sewing

service business whether in a small town or a big city.

The concept is not complicated.

You will be using the multiple symbiotic auxiliary complementary services technique.

What that means is that you will group a number of services that are interrelated and offer them

as a complement to your core sewing service business.

Don't worry, just follow me along on this and your fears will melt away, because I am giving you

the holy grail of success in your sewing service business.

Here's an example.

A carpet cleaning business also offers carpet stretching. So while he/she is in the home cleaning

the carpet, he notices the customer needs a carpet stretching. And gets that carpet stretching job.

And then he notices the hardwood floor can use some buffing. The list goes on and on. It is all

related to flooring, so you are perceived as the expert. Keep reading, and I will show you how to

easily become one, if you are not one already.

So let's say that you normally get ten clients a month at $150.00 each just for the carpet cleaning.

This is a small number of clients for a service business, and normally would not be considered a

viable business, although it could be fine part time.

But then three of those customers also buy carpet stretching at $500.00, and two of them buy

floor buffing at $700.00.

What have you done? Well, you've just gone from having a small clientele bringing you $1500 a

month from the singular service, to adding an additional $2900 per month in additional auxiliary

and symbiotic services for a total of $4400 per month.

That is an additional $2900 per month, and if you were relying on just the singular service, you

would have had to add 20 more customers.

But this additional revenue came from the same small number of customers you already had.

This means your revenue per customer has just gone up, which also means your profit has gone

up substantially because you did not have to necessarily spend additional monies on more

advertising.

Do you see the picture?

A sewing business is no different.

So a sewing business could, for example offer sewing services, and due to the small clientele

base would be getting a small number of clients that way.

So what else can a sewing business add as auxiliary symbiotic complementary services that

could supercharge your small sewing business revenues and profits?

It's up to you. Here are some examples but by no means is it exhaustive.

Personal design and tailoring, customer figure analysis, workshops, atelier services, the list goes

on.

I can hear you saying: "but I don't know how to do those things".

And I would understand you. But here's another secret.

You can learn on the job.

You already have sewing services customers, even if it is a small group. You can use your already

existing sewing service business customers.

They would be your guinea pigs. You can be transparent and tell them you're just now rolling out

the new service and therefore would charge them an initial fee that is very low so as to grab the

customer.

In this way most people won't complain if and when it takes you a little longer than expected, or if

you're a bit clumsy etc. the first few times you do it.

As you keep doing it and learning on the job and using the techniques outlined  below, you will

learn much faster than usual and in no time at all you will be an expert at it.

Here’s how you can become an expert in no time at all.

We live in a wonderful age where you can buy books on Amazon regarding your auxiliary

symbiotic additional sewing business complimentary service, to add to your sewing service

business.  Wow, that's a mouthful.

You can also watch you tube videos, and join social media groups and ask around to get you over

the hump on anything.

Believe me when I tell you, you will not regret this decision.

I personally was able to do this for a very long time and pay all my family expenses off of a very

small service business.

Now, I've saved the best for last. This does not just apply to very small towns.

The other scenario is if your sewing business happens to be in a city, an area with a lot of

competition.

This works because, similar to the small town scenario, you might have so much competition that

your share of the sewing business customers market share would naturally be much smaller.

And now I hope you are seeing the light, that it does not matter what the reason is that your

sewing service business has a small market share or small number or customers.

Whatever the reason, this technique will work for you.

And yes, you can advertise each and every one of the additional complimentary sewing business

services separately if you want.

I recommend you simply start adding one additional service at a time to your sewing service

business. This will help your confidence level and will show through to your customers, whom will

love you even more for helping them.

Why this works so well:

Remember that the customer, your customer, being an already existing sewing customer, is more

comfortable buying from you, since you already have that relationship, than having to try out a

brand new business they are not familiar with.

Trust me, this is huge.

You can use this technique to your already established small sewing service business, and you

can also jump start your brand new sewing business, and have more revenues relatively right out

of the gate, and knock it out of the ball park and beat your competition.

Actually, I wouldn't worry too much about your competition, let them worry about you.

They will not have your exact number of complimentary sewing business auxiliary skills, and even

if they try they will not necessarily have your recipe so to speak.  Besides, you are working with

already existing customers, whom already love you and trust you.

So, do not fear, get out there and complement your sewing service business and live the life

you've always wanted, working from home, doing what you love, around people that you want to

be around.

And if you know anyone that could use this information, bookmark this page and send it to them.

Peace, and happy sewing.
